Pregnant!

This is my official blogging announcement:
Baby #4 is on the way! He or she will be arriving sometime in January. The kids are totally excited! Micah took this picture and keeps asking to take more pics of my belly. He also asks almost every day if the baby has kicked yet and can he put his hand on my stomach just to check. Josiah will randomly come up and tell me that he loves the baby and would like to give it a kiss :) Rebekah obviously has the least understanding about the situation and thinks that we have renamed the body part formally known as the belly, to baby. She loves to give kisses so this is somewhere new where she can plant her wet ones!

Botched camping trip

The 7th was the first day of Chris' vacation. We decided to do a whole family camping trip, all by ourselves. We loaded the Envoy down with everything we thought we could possibly need for a two night stay in SilverJack. We left at 2:00p only to be home by 7:30p :(
Here is what went wrong:

About half way up (all gravel roads) we got a flat tire. Not just any flat tire....we were on an incline, trying to change the tire with a jack that wouldn't pick the car up, a spare that didn't have any air pressure in it, on a road that had been sprayed with mag chloride followed by a rain storm.
Thanks to two passing Jeeps (one had a floor jack and the other an air compressor) we were saved. The boys learned an important lesson about praying when you need help.

This storm just missed us while the tire was being put on but on we forged. We thought nothing was going to stop us from having a good camping trip.

This is the campsite we normally use. Note the chair that has been carved out of a tree stump.

Note the chair here....

Need I say more?

A later inspection at home revealed that all our chairs, tent, and table were covered in mag chloride. Not to mention it got in our cooler with our food. Its a good thing we came home.

Trip over Red Mountain Pass

We were able to take a trip to Durango to spend time with friends and watch a "cowboy show". We had to pass over Red Mountain which tops out at 11,000 ft. There was still snow on the side of the road. We also stopped and looked at one of the historic mining overlooks.

Fun in the front yard

When it gets too hot in the house, play in the front yard!

I filled the red wagon with water and it acted as a make-shift pool. The kids kept fighting over whose turn it was to sit in it :)

Micah's first t-ball game

This year we signed Micah up for t-ball. It did not take very long for him to catch on to the game. Daddy has been helping him learn to step and throw and keep his eye on the ball while he bats.
