Family Fun Day

What started out as a trip to the zoo, ended up being a trip down main street for Oktoberfest here in Garden. We enjoyed the cool (but windy) weather and a day spent just "messing around". There were some disappointed children since we never did make it to the zoo but face paints and sand art totally fixed that :)

Spider-Man

Thor
(Chris and I think he looks like Gimli from LOTR's)

Bekah also got her hair braided and sprayed pink

We tried really hard to get either Anah's face or arm painted and she wouldn't

The Baby Blessing!

Now I totally realize that this is actually old news to some of you but I didn't even bother trying to write a post or put up pictures until I was comfortably out of the "I feel like I am dying and haven't left the sofa for six weeks" stage of morning sickness :)

Here is my official release:
We are expecting another baby!!

These photos are technically outdated because I took them when I was 12 wks pregnant. Now I am somewhere between 15 & 16 wks now but I won't post current pictures till somewhere around 20 wks. Then hopefully I will scan in an ultrasound picture and be able to reveal if we are a having another drama queen or booger picker :)

I also have a future post in mind. With this pregnancy, we (Chris and I) have been confronted quite a bit with out apparent "lack of birth control" or our inability to figure out what keeps "causing this". Chris and I have had quite a change of heart when it comes to our family as a whole but I have not been able to express it on paper, in a way that I am pleased with. Until then, just ask me and I will give you the "in person, soapbox" version :)

Zipper Nippers

It's old news that Micah loves the zip line. He only went down it a million times last year at camp. He kinda takes after his mom, who earned the nickname Zippany during her high school camp years :)

This year Josiah and Rebekah would not be outdone by their big brother. It was kinda hard telling the pictures apart since they all wore the blue youth group shirt that day, but here are each of the kids.

That little blue dot right above the tree is me. Josiah (and Bekah) were not strong enough to take the rope up the zip line.

Yeah, for Josiah!

Yes, they make a harness especially for the little ones. It was just Bekah's size. Believe it or not, there was another little girl who was just a tad smaller than Bekah, who went also.

Rebekah was fearless when she jumped! Before her harness was even hooked to the zip line, she was standing at the edge of the platform with no fear. At the time my stomach lurched because the first thought I had was, "She doesn't know she needs to be hooked up before she jumps." Even now it makes me queasy to remember her lack of fear.

Camp

Camp was amazing this year. I am still in awe of how God is allowing Chris and I to be used in the lives of our young people.

Though such blessings aren't without its struggles. Where God has great things planned, Satan will attack and try to create confusion, stress, and distraction.

The services were great. Camp preaching always has a way of getting ahold of a camper (and a counselor's) heart. There were many decisions made at camp this year ranging from salvation to a surrender to missions.

And of course, fun was had by all!

Chris and Micah sang a song together for chuck wagon.

Happiness

Puppets at the Library

Our library offers quite a few activities for children on a weekly basis. Yeah for free activities!!

Story time with puppets....

Josiah with his friend Clara. No one wanted to sit up close with Josiah so when one of his friends showed up, he grabbed her by the hand and asked her to sit with him :)

Active participation

Achievements

So I know that it is almost July and that school has been out for a little while, but I am just getting around to posting about some of the awards Micah received during the school year.

These awards are for the 100% 's he received during the school year. His total: 75.

Timothy projects are the bible verses that a student recites from memory during the school year. Micah memorized 193 bible verses! He also competed 115 PACEs. Micah finished up the first grade (we stopped doing school the previous year when Anah was born), completed second grade and started the third grade.

Micah's plaque for the 7500 club (75 one hundred percents) was awarded to him Sunday morning before the church family.

I'm a very proud momma :)

Teaching Opportunities

I had the chance to teach a lab near the end of the school year for the Christian School. Someone donated an owl pellet dissection kit for the school. I taught the first lab for the younger students and a second lab for the older students.

Josiah came to school to participate with the class but after one look at the pellet full of fur and feathers, he refused to touch it.

Some good lookin' kids

These are the girls Easter dresses.
(Thank you grandma!)

The handsome young men....

This was the Sunday following Easter. The boys picked out their own matching clothes and again, the girls dresses are from grandma :)

Bekah: "Anah, hold my hand for the picture!"
Anah: (thinking) 'I don't want to hold your hand!'

I know I am cute:)

How can you not love this face!

Micah

Just in the last week or so, Micah got glasses. He wanted everyone in Montrose to see how good he looked!

Micah is also very proud of his first "space" in his top row of teeth :)
